Knowledge Matters, Inc. consists of individuals who are passionate about technology, innovation and education and who are dedicated to inspiring today’s youth to pursue their goals and dreams. As part of this longstanding commitment, Knowledge Matters has offered the annual Virtual Business Scholarship opportunity for the past seven years. Educators work hard to enable their students to stay competitive by equipping them with the necessary information and technology to do so. This scholarship is one way of supporting the effort teachers put in and the accomplishments their students have made.
The scholarship is for high school business, marketing and personal finance students currently enrolled in their junior and senior years of high school throughout the United States. This scholarship is intended to help eligible applicants defray the costs of their continuing education. The scholarship applications will be judged nationally and the winner will receive $2,000.
To be eligible for nomination by their teachers, students must exhibit excellence in business, marketing or personal finance classes and show interest and accomplishment in the use of technologies in these subjects. The deadline for nominations is April 1, 2017 and the final selection will be made by an independent panel of judges. The scholarship money will be disbursed during May 2017.
Knowledge Matters is pleased to announce the 2015-2016 Virtual Business Scholarship winner, Nathan Sokul from Byron Nelson High School (photo below). Nathan, who is currently a business management student, has achieved great academic success through the use of a wide variety of technologies he uses inside and outside of the classroom. According to Nathan, “technology has been the key to my success in and out of school and in the business program at my school. Without technology, the business program and the opportunities it afforded me would not exist.” Congratulations to you, Nathan on all of your successes and we wish you the very best.
